I’m making other stuff which I’d like to introduce today.
These are not jewelry, but lacquerware.
I make these lacquerware using “KAN-SHITU” method.
The KAN-SHITU method has been used for Buddhism statues from a long time ago.
It uses linen cloth instead of wood for the core.
A benefit of this method is lightening weight. If Buddhism statues were heavy, monks couldn’t carry them when a fire had broken out.
Another benefit of this method is freedom of shaping. You can shape anything you want in this method.
I’m making lacquerware for Japanese SAKE. But you know I don’t make ordinary lacquerware.
I can’t tell you what is different right now.

新計画進行中
新作も作りつつ、平行に進めている作業があります。
いつものアクセサリーとは違って、久しぶりに器を作っています。
「乾漆」と言われる技法を使った器です。
従来漆器は木を胎に使いますが、乾漆は型に麻布等を漆で貼り重ねて胎を作る技法です。
現代のFPR（強化プラスティック＝船などによく使われます）と同じ作り方です。
ある計画があってそれに向けて作っているのですが、
どうせ久しぶりに漆器を作るなら普通の漆器では面白く無いので、色々と「仕掛け」を考えています。
計画ではかなり面白いものになると考えています。
少しづつここでも進捗状況を紹介していきたいと思いますので興味のあるからは御覧ください。
写真は下地の段階です。 下地の段階でも色々遊んでいて、麻布の代わりに使えそうな物を実験したりしています。
